Privacy Policy
At GarageDoor.biz ("we," "our," or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you visit our website, request quotes, claim contractor profiles, or use our digital dispatch tools.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with our platform:
- Homeowner & Customer Inquiries: Name, phone number, email address, service address / ZIP code, details of the garage door issue, photos or video submissions for remote triage, and budget preferences.
- Contractor & Business Profile Submissions: Business legal name, DBA name, official license numbers, certificate of insurance (COI) verification documents, physical service addresses, phone numbers, technician contact information, and business logos.
- Automatically Collected Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, device identifiers, and on-page interaction data collected via standard web server logs and cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information strictly to operate, maintain, and enhance the GarageDoor.biz platform, including:
- Matching homeowners with licensed, verified garage door technicians in their local service area.
- Routing telephone calls and dispatch whispers through our secure programmable voice gateways.
- Verifying contractor credentials with state contractor license registries (such as CSLB, TDLR, and ROC).
- Preventing fraudulent contractor impersonation, lead scraping, and spam calls.
- Facilitating upfront digital change orders and homeowner repair authorization confirmations.
3. Information Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. When a homeowner submits a request for a quote or emergency repair, contact details are shared strictly with the matched licensed professional(s) serving that specific metro.
We may disclose data to trusted service providers who assist in operating our infrastructure, such as Twilio (for telephony and SMS dispatch notifications) and cloud database providers, under strict confidentiality obligations.
4. Data Retention & Security
We implement industry-standard encryption protocols (TLS/HTTPS in transit and AES-256 at rest) to safeguard your data. Contractor verification records are maintained for audit and quality assurance purposes as required by home service industry compliance standards.
5. Your Privacy Rights (CCPA, CPRA, & GDPR)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of marketing or promotional SMS/email notifications at any time by replying "STOP" or contacting us.
